The majority of Norwegian state universities and university colleges, including those for overseas students, do not collect tuition fees as a matter of policy. Undergraduate studies, Master’s programs and doctoral programs are all included in this category, as are all other levels. There is a semester charge of NOK 300-600 every semester, however, which students must pay each semester.

Be aware that a few specialized master’s degree programs offered by select public universities and university institutions may charge tuition. Tuition fees are charged by the majority of private educational institutions for all of their programs and courses. In most cases, however, the rates charged are much cheaper than those charged for equivalent studies in the majority of countries. Furthermore, tuition fees for international students are not greater than those for Norwegian students.

Many Finnish universities and UASs provide financial aid to deserving non-EU/EEA students accepted into their tuition-based undergraduate and graduate programs. Applicants for EDUFI Fellowships are eligible to receive up to one academic year of living expenses to support their doctoral study.
